The CANit CANopen I/O module series has been developed for universal 24V DC applications. The CANit I/O modules are available in various I/O configurations. The housing can be chosen between black aluminium housing or green plastic. Both are suitable for mounting on carrier rail. Alternatively the CANit I/O modules can be bought without any housing, too, for direct screw mounting in a machine or apparat.

The 24V DC inputs and outputs are highside voltage switching (PNP-logic). All outputs are overload and short circuit protected. The I/Os are isolated from the CAN-bus and displayed by signal LEDs.

The CAN-bus interface meets DS401. Node ID and baudrate are adjustable by DIP-switches. The bus termination resistor can be activated by a DIP-switch, too. The transmission modes of the PDOs can be chosen between event related, time related, synchronous, asynchronous or remote frame related according to DS301. The connection of the CAN-bus is galvanically isolated and using the bus transceiver 82C251 according to ISO11898 standard.
